Krishnapuram Palace,Kayamkulam
:
Location :
Kayamkulam, 47 km from
Alappuzha. Visiting hours : 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on all days except
Mondays . The Krishnapuram Palace is a rare specimen of the Kerala
style of architecture - complete with gabled roofs, narrow
corridors and dormer windows. Residence of the rulers of
Kayamkulam kingdom, the age of the palace is unknown.
Synagogue:
Location:
The
Synagogue at Fort Kochi, about 10 km from Ernakulam town, central
Kerala. Opening hours: 10:00 - 17:00 hours; closed on Fridays The
Synagogue at Fort Kochi,constructed in 1568, is the oldest in the
Commonwealth. Destroyed in a shelling during the Portuguese raid
in 1662, it was rebuilt two years later by the Dutch.
Fort
Kochi :
Location: About 13 km from
Ernakulam town.
The eventful history of this city began when a
major flood in AD 1341 threw open the estuary at Kochi, till then
a land locked region, turning it into one of the finest natural
harbours in the world. Kochi thus became a haven for seafaring
visitors from all over the world and became the first European
township in India when the Portuguese settled here in the 15th
century.
Vasco da
Gama Square :
Kochi, the commercial capital of
Kerala, the last port of Vasco Da Gama, where you will find
synagogues, mosques, churches and temples side by side, is a place
with a fascinating history. The huge cantilevered fishing net, the
Chinese fishing nets, seen here is a legacy of its spellbinding
past.
Mattancherry Palace :

Mattancherry, 10 km from Ernakulam. Visiting hours :
10:00 am to 5:00 pm on all days except Fridays. Built by the
Portuguese in 1557 and presented to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of
Kochi, the Palace was renovated in 1663 by the Dutch. The palace
with a Bhagavathi temple in the central courtyard is built like
the typical Kerala style mansion - the Nalukettu - the home of the
aristocracy, nobility and upper classes, with four separate wings
opening out to a central courtyard.
Bolghatty Island :
This lush,
lovely island is famous for its palace of the same name. The
Bolghatty Palace, built in 1744 by the Dutch and later taken over
by the British, is today a popular hotel run by the Kerala Tourism
Development Corporation.
The Hill
Palace Museum, Thripunithura :
Location
:
10 km from Ernakulam town, central Kerala. Visiting hours
: 9.00 to 12.30 hrs. and 14.00 to 16.30 hrs. The Hill Palace, the
official residence of the Kochi royal family, is today the largest
archaeological museum in Kerala. Built in 1865, the palace complex
consists of 49 buildings in the trational architectural style of
Kerala, sprawled over 52 acres of beautifully landscaped terraced
land which houses a deer park and facilities for horse riding.
Numerous species of flora including rare medicinal plants grow
here. On display in the full-fledged Ethno-archaeological museum
are oil-paintings, murals, sculptures in stone and manuscripts,
inscriptions, coins, belongings of the Kochi royal family and
royal furniture including the simhasana (throne).
BEACHES OF SOUTH INDIA
Beaches are the most attractive and frequented spots in South India
specially in Goa . In fact, Goa is almost synonymous with beaches. Nearly the entire coastline is dotted with world-class beaches, which acquire their names after the nearby village or locality. Two continuous stretches of beaches northern and southern stretches mark the GAO coastline. Kissed by the passionate, azure sea and embraced by the land and shaded by swaying palms, these miles of golden sand sparkling in the sun are the most desired places you can ever love on earth. ANJUNA :
(18 kms from Panaji). A
popular beach area adjacent to Chapora fort. In Anjuna there is
magnificent Albuquerque mansion built in 1920, flanked by
octagonal towers and attractive Mangalore tiled-roof.
ARAMBOL :
(50 kms from Panaji). A
unique beach in the North Goa, it is a rocky and sandy beach and
much sought after. It has a sweet water pond right on the shore.
BAGA :
(18 kms. from Panaji). It
is at the northern tip of a wonderful 7 kms. stretch along the
coastal North Goa. Accommodation including star hotels are
available throughout this stretch.
BENAULIM
(4 kms. From Margao).
Situated at Benaulim village near Margao, it is one of the famous
beaches of south Goa.
BETUL :
(22 kms. From Margao).
This is the southern most beach of a stretch that extends from
Bogmalo to Betul in Southern Goa.
BOGMALO :
(5 kms. From Goa
Airport). Well connected by road, it offers excellent water sports
facilities.
CALANGUTE :
(16 kms from Panaji).
It is the most popular holiday resort in Goa. Excellent
accommodation facilities are available, particularly at the
tourist resort and cottages.
CANSAULIM :
(15 kms. From
Margao). A famous beach in Mormugao taluka near Cansaulim railway
station.
COLVA :
(About 6 kms. From
Margao). Colva beach is the pride of Salcete and the only rival to
Calangute by its scenic splendour . Here, sand, sea and sky blend
in enchanting natural harmony unspoilt by men. It has good
accommodation facilities, particularly at the tourist cottages.
DONA PAULA :
(7 kms from Panaji).
An idyllic picturesque spot, Dona Paula commands a fine view of
the Zuari river and Mormugao Harbour . Water Scootering facilities
are available here.
MIRAMAR :
(Gaspar Dias, 3 kms
from Panaji). A lovely golden beach of soft sand girdled with palm
trees facing the blue Arabian Sea, is the nearest to Panaji.
MORJIM :
(40 kms. From Panaji).
In the mouth of the Chapora river and facing the famous Chapora
fort, this is another famous beach of northern Goa.
PALOLEM :
(about 37 kms. From
Margao). Just west of Chaudi one of the most enchanting beaches in
Goa relatively deserted, with backdrop of Western Ghats, situated
in Southern Taluka of Canacona .
SINQUERIM :
(16 kms. From
Panaji). The southern most beach of the Calangute stretch, this
beach has good accommodation and water sports facilities.
SIRIDAO :
(8 kms. From Panaji).
Near Goa Velha in Tiswadi taluka near the mouth of the river
Zuari, it is one of the most frequented beaches of Goa for its
picturesque scenery.
VAGATOR :
(22 kms from Panaji) It
is a popular beach dominated by Chapora Fort to the north, on its
imposing headland. To the south of Vagator is Calangute beach.

Day 04: Arrival at Cochin
On your arrival at Cochin, our travel executives welcome you and we
drive to Munnar. Check in to your hotel at Munnar located in quiet and
peaceful environment of beautiful misty hill of Munnar at a height of
about 1600 meters above the sea level. Rest of the day is at leisure.
Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 05: Munnar
After breakfast in the morning we proceed on for a full day sightseeing
tour. You visit Pothamedu to view the sprawling plantation of Tea,
coffee and cardamom. Then you proceed to Devikulam, one of the best
hill stations of Kerala. Our next destination is Pallivasal, where
India's first Hydro Electric Project is located. Then we visit a highly
specialized dairy farm in Mattupetty. We end our day tour with a visit
to Eravikulam National Park, where you can spot a variety of wild
animals and birds. Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 06: Munnar - Thekkady
After Breakfast
in the morning we proceed to Thekkady. On arrival you check in at a
hotel. In Thekkady you visit one of the best national parks of India,
the Periyar National Park. Famous for its Tiger Reserve, the park is
also the natural habitat of Elephant, bison, spotted deer, langur,
sambhar, gaur to name a few with. In the evening enjoy a game viewing
by a motorized boat at Periyar Lake. Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 07: Thekkady - Cochin
After breakfast in the morning we drive to Cochin. On arrival, check in at your
hotel. In the afternoon you are ready for a half-day city tour. Visit the Fort
Cochin, famous St. Francis Church, Chinese Fishing Nets, Mattancherry Palace,
Jewish Synagogue and Bolghatty Palace. Then walk through the busy spice markets
in the Jew town area. After dinner you are transferred to Railway station for
your onward journey or way back home.
Day 10: school in Morning .
